Imagine you purchased a subscription to Quickbooks Online, and then imagine you wait for that ‘aha moment’ when everything is set up and makes sense, and you are up and running in no time! Money is flowing in! Just like the ad said! Right? Not so fast...
If you own and run your own business you probably know that while Intuit Quickbooks Online is a powerful financial application that can make a huge difference in the financial aspect of your business, it is marketed by Intuit, its parent company, to small business owners and entrepreneurs as the answer to their quest for managing invoicing, getting paid on time, paying bills…. all with the click of a button.
If only that were true…
The reality is, bookkeeping is tricky. It sounds easy but it can be confusing and frustrating. Sometimes bookkeeping is scary. It is definitely time consuming. Even when we are using software as amazing as Quickbooks Online.
Setting up and using Quickbooks Online, although a powerful tool, is even trickier and more confusing these days. Why is it so tricky? Because most of us are not in the business of finance. We are good at what we do, our own little niche that we excel in, and 99% of the time that has nothing to do with figuring out software on our own or understanding and implementing bookkeeping and skills it takes to make a program like Quickbooks Online work for our needs and actually help our businesses grow.
This is where I come in. I am a certified bookkeeper with over 25 years experience in running my own business using Quickbooks
and now, as a VIRTUAL BOOKKEEPER, using Quickbooks Online and helping my clients run theirs. I work from my home, using a secure
server for document upload and storage, and occaisionally using remote access software when it’s necessary to log in and have
those one-on-one sessions with my clients. Email. Phone. Internet. Modern technology has made it possible for us to work from
our homes, and very efficiently. New numbers released by the U.S. Census Bureau this year, found that a whopping 5.4 million new
business applications were filed in 2021, surpassing the record set in 2020 of 4.4 million. Did you start a new business recently?
